Oops, I did it again...
I deleted all the video files from my SD card before I actually had them backed up on my NAS.

Good news! After messing with photorec, untrunc, various fun ffmpeg incantations, etc... I found a GUI app, "Disk Drill", that has 'Advanced Camera Recovery' and pulled the files right back from the dead.
I was _close_ with the open source utilities, but the app finished it off

Did not plan on spending 6 hours yesterday and 4 (and counting) today trying to recover some Sony MP4s I fat-fingered out of existence.

So, yesterday one of my disks decided to die. And this bastard did it! The problem was the data because the disk was my backup for some old but important information. Thanks to the gods for Claude and Disk Drill - I recovered all the important stuff. Now I'm thinking about a proper NAS with RAID because you never know when your backup drive will decide to die

I accidently deleted my entire OneDrive folder and my computer NEVER backed up.
I panicked for the first few hours and a buddy told me about Disk Drill.

Whew! Got a little itchy with the 'Delete' button and accidentally sent some photos to the ether. Thankfully Disk Drill pulled them from the brink for me 😮💨.

Here’s a piece of software I can wholeheartedly recommend — it has saved my work more than once, including today. An external drive failed, but I was able to recover all the material from my camera’s memory card, even though it had already been formatted twice. 🙌 @Cleverfiles

@Cleverfiles So glad I found Disk Drill. Works amazing. I lost 36 audio file recordings when I mistakenly formatted the my memory card. Sure enough Disk Drill recovered all 36 files in less than an hour. Back to work on my project! I

Real talk. Shout out to programs like Disk Drill. Invaluable software.
TLDR: my main card corrupted today and had to be formatted but Disk Drill is finding all the data safe post format.

Had my car keyed at the weekend. Thankfully the @Tesla caught the entire thing in great detail.
Minor downside: the footage cut off a *second* before the license plate would have entered view. However, I used disk Drill from @Cleverfiles and was able to recover the next files.
