Great write up by @jaypeters of @verge with regards to the Nova Launcher/Branch situation that I wrote about this morning.
Dominic reached out to me via LinkedIn this morning and asked some questions to get some insight.
You can read that here:

For those not ready to switch, know that the original team has launched a petition to make Nova open source. It could give Nova a new future.

A big thanks to Kevin, @apex2504, and @CliffWade for everything you’ve done for this community.

Hi everyone, Rob here.
I imagine you've seen the seen the news by now. It sucks. We've gone from a team of around a dozen people to just one full time developer -- the original founder, Kevin.
Despite being somewhat competitors, it is depressing to hear this. @CliffWade, @apex2504, and everyone affected, I wish you all the very best in your future endeavors.
A sad day: Branch, the company that acquired @NovaLauncher ~2 years ago, has laid off many of the great people working on/for it, including @CliffWade, @apex2504, and many more.
ALT It is with a very broken and heavy heart that I have to make this announcement. After 8 years, 9 months and 5 days, I am no longer employed by Nova and/or Branch Metrics.
Yesterday, August 7th, Branch laid off 100 employees in a massive layoff across the entire company. Myself, along with Rob, and many others with great talent were affected.
As many of you know, and for those that don't know, I worked for Nova for 8 1/2 years starting back in November 2015. It was one heck of a great, enjoyable ride that I wouldn't trade for the world.
I'm not sure what the future holds for me personally, but I see this as an opportunity to move on to something bigger and better. Though with the great experience I had at Nova, better seems tough to accomplish.
Again, this has been an amazing journey over the past nearly 9 years and I am certainly sad for it to end. I'm going to miss so many things about this job. My boss, the users, the customers, the flexibility and of course the amazingly t

Today is a sad day. Even though we’re competitors, we’ve gotten to know the Nova team over the years and have always had mutual respect. @CliffWade and @apex2504 are very talented, and it’s hard to see why they were let go. We wish Cliff, Rob, and everyone affected the best.

As of today, I am officially no longer using this account.
If you would like to follow my active account, you can do so here: @DecryptedGamer
I have followed most everyone from that account already so I hope to see you all over there!
To see stream teams call someone out when they get unfollowed is truly sad in so many ways.
Not sure why @AdaptOrDieTryin finds this necessary as it's makes your "stream team" look shittier than it already is.
They unfollow because they don't like your content...
They don't care about you or anything you do up until they lose you as a number, then they throw their little AoD Hissy Fit. So sad to see someone get butt hurt over an unfollow.
Come on @adaptordietryin it's 2021, there's no need for this shit anymore.
Hey @adaptordietryin Curious if you're going to call the other person out that just unfollowed you and left your Discord.
Maybe you really should think about the things you say you do compared to what you really do and are about before you claim your all about "each other"
It's truly not that difficult. Twitter isn't the best place for customer support. Using the Contact Support button provides us with a ton of information for us to help you better and faster. Sending a DM on Twitter doesn't provide that information.
Also, this is my personal Twitter account, not a work account so why would you DM me in hopes to get support? I don't understand humans and their way of thinking!
I'm going to say this one last time... Do not DM me with regards to Nova support. It's not that I don't want to help, it's that I don't use this account and I won't see them.
Nova Settings - Contact Support is there for a reason! Use it!
I'm saying this so you don't feel ignored or feel like we don't care. We ask that you email us from within the app with any questions, bugs, feature requests or just to say HEY!
Twitter just isn't the place for technical support.
