Record crops do not prove that warming is harmless. Agricultural progress has been driven by technology, while climate change is increasing drought, water stress and extreme weather.
Replying to @ClimatePNowak
Here's what the warming trend - longer growing seasons, agriculture further North and at higher elevations, together with diesel tractors and more CO2 has done to agriculture. Record crops.

Short term CO2 gains do not cancel out the long term warming trend and the pressure it puts on agriculture, water systems, oceans and habitats.
Replying to @ClimatePNowak
Bullshit. There is no evidence of any negative effects on any plants (without exception) due to additional CO2.

Climate science will keep improving, but for me the bigger picture is already clear. Rising emissions are warming the planet, and that is why meaningful climate action and renewable energy matter so much.

The models doing the math have never passed basic verification and validation. No checks on whether the code even solves the equations correctly. No out-of-sample tests on tropical upper troposphere temperatures or the natural warming after the Little Ice Age. Just circular bookkeeping inside the same untested framework. Plants need CO2, yes, but unchecked emissions are driving warming that harms ecosystems and agriculture. That damage is already visible in forests, wildlife and farming around the world.
Replying to @ClimatePNowak
There is no climate change; forests, wildlife, & agriculture continue as nature intends. The extra CO2 is an unmitigated benefit to life on earth.

The key issue is not short term yield gains. It is the long term warming trend and the pressure it puts on agriculture, water systems, oceans and habitats.
Replying to @ClimatePNowak
Yes, minor warming, more CO2, & fossil fuel based fertilizers have caused crop yields to soar

We can measure the pressure already in ocean heat records, coral bleaching, glacier retreat and crop losses during severe droughts. These are real impacts of the long term warming trend.

For me, this comparison does not change the bigger picture. The transition to renewable energy still requires smart policy, grid upgrades and long term commitment to reduce emissions and strengthen energy security.

The data clearly shows that sea levels are rising and accelerating, and to me that only reinforces the need for stronger climate action to protect coastal communities and ecosystems.
For decades, activist organizations have warned that rising sea levels would create a climate catastrophe unless society dramatically reduced fossil fuel use. Ken Braun examines what the data actually shows. How much have sea levels risen in recent decades? How quickly are they rising today? And do those numbers support claims of a climate emergency?

We do need to protect our air, water and land, and I believe that starts with serious action to reduce pollution and emissions.

I prefer to stay focused on science and real climate action. The real challenge is reducing emissions, expanding renewable energy, and responding seriously to global warming.

I support climate action, and the scientific evidence is very clear: modern warming is global, unusually rapid, and strongly linked to greenhouse gas emissions, not simply a recovery from the Little Ice Age.
There is nothing unusual about the recent "global warming". It is what happens in all warming cycles, and not dissimilar to the initial warming after the Little Ice Age, which we are still emerging from today, and that is why we are in a warming trend, not "CO2".

The key issue is not the change per day. It is the long term warming trend and the pressure it puts on agriculture, oceans and habitats.
Temperatures In the real world, people live anywhere from an average yearly temperature of -10C (Yakutsk, Siberia) to 30C (Khartoum, Sudan) That's a range of 40C. Please can somebody tell me why they think climate change at the rate of 1/20,000th of a degree per day is an 'existential threat to humanity'

Natural climate cycles exist, but they do not explain the speed of current warming. I believe the scientific evidence is clear that emissions are driving this trend, which is why climate action still matters.
There is no climate emergency. There are warming cycles roughly every 1,000 years, corresponding to the Eddy/ Halstatt Solar Cycle of 980-1,000 years.
