My experience is that this is not device (medium) dependent, it is content dependent. Entirely. We have been building an app that doesn't do dopamine hacks and forces kids to both think and articulate. My kids enjoy it but it demands too much of them to just go and go on it. It's just like other learning for them: they do it in bursts when they have the right attitude and energy, then move on to something else. Ironically the biggest mistake we have made with tablet is to let our kids use "pok pok" during travel. Pok pok is advertised is "not overstimulating" etc but they got hooked on it and we had to get rid of it. It demanded nothing of them but to sit there and tap tap tap and get the dopamine hits. It also had some subtle, but present, gender stuff that is gross to push at kids. Long story short: despite Mcluhan, the medium is not the entirety of the message. For example print media could be enlightening, or pornographic. The message DOES matter.

Tricky stage and tricky winds! Clark and I ended up ROing this stage at the Hornady Precision Hunter Challenge @nrlhunter match in Price, UT. It looked like position one would be a simple prone position followed by a nice rock to shoot off in position two. Turned out that you couldn’t see target 1 from prone because the hill hid it. Interestingly when ROing I saw a dude aim at the hillside and lob the bullet to the target from that spot prone lol. The second position has a similar problem so you had to get up high on the rock where it wasn’t quite as comfortable. Then the switchy winds… On many stages we had wind like this and on some stages it completely changed direction while shooting. Overall, this match tested our skills much more than other matches this season. We fumbled stages and dropped points that we shouldn’t have. Decided to switch things up for the rest of the @nrlhunter season! I’ve got 3 more matches assuming Clark and I get into the finale. I felt bad hammering him with my brake but I couldn’t switch to a suppressor and stay under 16lbs, so I decided to swap out the chassis for a stock. Foundation seemed like the obvious choice from what I’ve heard about the quality of their products as well as the founder/company. Thankfully I picked up some generous certs from Burris and Thunderbeast off the prize tables at a couple matches. Crushed this two target, two position stage at the @nrlhunter match in Vernal, UT a few weeks ago. It’s fun to edit these videos and see all the things I did wrong and make note of things I did well. If you’ve seen some of the other stages I’ve posted from this match you’ll notice me hunting for targets a fair amount in my scope. This isn’t normally something I struggle with but the desert brush terrain made it obvious that I have some work to do. It’s difficult to index and landmark targets when there aren’t a lot of obvious landmarks. On the other hand, I was happy with my recoil control. I was consistently able to spot my shots. If you haven’t tried out competitive shooting before, we’re hosting a 1-day NRL Hunter Games match at the Cameo Shooting and Education Complex in western CO on July 18. They’ll have to release a model significantly better than GPT-5.5 or match codex limits before I’ll consider switching back

Loved my @BambulabGlobal H2D until all the sudden it had a number of errors - hot end cooling, abnormal extruder lifting action, etc. 2 weeks later after super slow and unhelpful support and hundreds of dollars in parts and it still doesn’t work. Customer service responds maybe once a day. Parts take multiple days before they even ship. Not a dependable company. And will they cover anything under warranty? Nope, it expired literally a couple days before the issues started. Super frustrating.

My shooting partner and I nailed a couple elk targets at nearly 1000 yards on Stage 4 at our last @nrlhunter match. We dropped two points - the first due to a bad initial wind call then another by shooting over its back. Not sure what happened on that one. One thing I’ve noticed myself doing a bit too much is having to adjust my magnification to find a target. Normally I run about 15x. For targets this far out I’ll usually zoom in a bit, but then I end up hunting for my target. Need to practice more. Getting better each match! We finished 5th overall at this one.
