Just had an odd situation occur with
@DoorDash…
I placed an order, but it was cancelled and refunded about 20 minutes later. I assumed the store was having issues, so I made other plans.
Then, about 30 minutes later, I received a notification saying a driver was on the way… even though the order had already been cancelled.
When I checked my account, I saw a second order had been placed on my behalf. I contacted support and they said it was a system glitch. They cancelled the second order, but the refund came back as DoorDash credits (not the original payment method).
After looking around online, I saw mentions that DoorDash can automatically re-place orders. I called support to confirm and they said their system did automatically place a new order when the first one was cancelled.
I asked if there’s a way to disable that behavior. They said there isn’t.
TL;DR - DoorDash can automatically place a new order for you after a cancellation, and there’s currently no opt-out.
