Hello everyone! We are an international club of young scientists tackling key questions in root research: we are interested in root phenotyping, exudates, morphology & root-microbiome interaction-gathering @ISRR2021 to share science, diversity, career prospects & fun root images!
quick survey still open for a few days 👇 @ClubIsrr@ISRR2021 values your view on currents advances (and needs!) and future directions of root research #phenotyping
@ISRR2021@rooting2021@ClubIsrr has ended physically but lives for 8 weeks virtually. Registrants have access to content. Especially helpful for those that had to sleep or work during the meeting. 🤓😴🤓😴 @RootScientists
Big thank you to @ISRR2021 & @rooting2021 organizing committee and international program committee for holding such a wonderful joint meeting! Most importantly, thank you to all the speakers and participants for sharing your fantastic work with our international root community!
High-tech #root phenotyping methods are visually impressive, but the basics are still incredibly valuable. @LarryMattYork's root washing video @ISRR2021@rooting2021 = great intro. Would have saved younger me from going cross-eyed tweezing every last fragment out of the sieve
Check their talks out to understand how this cute little cleft-grafted cacao scion made it! And head on over to my poster #226 to see what happened next with nutrient uptake and microbial communities. Don't forget to vote for posters!
Best part of conferences: talks in your specific subfield from a very different perspective! Great session on grafting @ISRR2021@rooting2021 - especially enjoying keynote by @CharlesMelnyk explaining mechanisms of graft take and @Margare41291282 talk on compatibility.
And remember the phenotyping workshop tomorrow, the videos for the workshop are up at cvent.me/mA2bqB?RefId=Phenot… and questions can be posed in advance at rooting2021.com/phenotyping_…. Looking forward to seeing people getting good questions to the experts on the panels!
Hope everyone is having a great meeting, it seems to be from all the tweets and questions at Q&A. As we approach the end of the week, 2 bits of housekeeping, first big thanks to Vicki Bryan and the MU conference office and the @ClubIsrr ambassadors for keeping us going…
