On Senior Night, dads threw the final pitch, letters were read, and moms were waiting at home plate. What a sendoff đŸ„Č (via heyhannahgoetz/TT)

Joe Mazzulla on what it says about him as a coach that the team plays hard and connected no matter who is playing: “It says nothing about me. It says everything about the team. They are the ones that have to go out and do it. It just proves that we have really good players. Proves that we have a system. Proves that we have a locker room that cares about winning.”

Curt Cignetti on his program's philosophy on how not to be average: 🎭 Average is a decision disguised as a default. Make standards visible, measurable, and non-negotiable. Because what you tolerate becomes your identity. đŸ€ Most people negotiate with the work; elite teams eliminate the negotiation. The gap isn’t talent, it’s the daily refusal to accept “good enough” in reps, details, and accountability. đŸ§± You don’t rise above average in big moments, you escape it in small ones. Every meeting, drill, and conversation is either reinforcing the standard, or quietly lowering it.

Two coaches. Two completely different styles. One championship stage. Dan Hurley and Dusty May couldn’t appear more different. Hurley is loud, fiery, and unapologetically intense. He coaches with passion on full display—every possession, every call, every moment. May is calm, measured, and composed. He leads with poise—steady, deliberate, and rarely rattled. One is expressive and animated. The other is reserved and calculated. And yet
both are elite. Both are brilliant tacticians. Both are masterful recruiters. Both have built championship cultures. And most importantly—both LOVE their players
and their players love them right back. That’s the lesson. There is no ONE way to lead. Not in basketball. Not in business. Not in life. Leadership isn’t about copying someone else’s style. It’s about owning your style. Your personality. Your strengths. Your voice. Because authenticity builds trust. And trust builds teams that win. Don’t try to lead like Hurley. Don’t try to lead like May. Lead like you.

Steve Kerr shares a masterclass on building culture. Before his first training camp with the Warriors, Kerr spent 3 days with Pete Carroll. He hadn't coached a single day yet. Carroll asked him: "How are you gonna coach your team?" Kerr said: "You mean like what offense we're gonna run?" Carroll's response: "No, no. That stuff doesn't even matter." Kerr had spent years designing plays and systems. Carroll told him none of it mattered without culture. Carroll shared his own journey. "Bill Walsh told him all about how he had built the 9ers culture." That's where Carroll learned the lesson he passed on to Kerr: "It's not just about having values - it's about making them come alive every single day." Then Carroll asked Kerr a question that changed everything: "What are your values?" "If you come in here with genuine, real values and then you make them come alive, that's when the culture starts to form." X's and O's don't build culture. Authenticity does. Your values have to be yours and you have to live them every single day. (đŸŽ„Berkeley Haas )

Radford wins in walk off fashion after freshman Joey Raccuia passed away Thursday. Truly remarkable these guys were able to gather themselves and win a baseball game two days later. Baseball is special.

Touching home on this chapter of my career. Filled with unbelievable gratitude to have experienced an environment unlike any other. @CoachSheets3 and @GGC_Baseball welcomed me into a place that would transform my heart and life in more ways than they will ever know! Thankful for the journey and excited for the future! God’s timing is not always ours, but fully prepared to follow HIS lead! “I see the evidence of HIS goodness all over my life.” Can’t wait to see the Gang chase down their very best and prove that, “On Championship Teams, Players Lead.” Relationships that transcended the game of baseball! Sincere thanks and ❀ to every player and coach that made showing up each day a genuine joy! I will Always be a Grizzly đŸ» 💚

Buzz Williams said, "If my entitlement is high, my gratitude is low." "If my gratitude is low then I'm not present and I'm not where my feet are." Entitlement is the enemy of progress. It's the delusion of earning without earning. (đŸŽ„@TeamCoachBuzz)
