MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Ashley Prim is in her fourth season as an Assistant Coach for Women’s Basketball at Saint Joseph’s University, her alma mater where she starred at point guard. Recently promoted to Recruiting Coordinator, she leads all aspects of recruiting strategy and travel while contributing to guard development, scouting, academic advising, and departmental Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives. Since joining the staff in 2022, the Hawks have compiled a 72-27 record over her first three seasons, including a program-record 28-win campaign in 2023-24. A 2013 graduate and former Atlantic 10 champion, the Bridgeport, CT native brings professional playing experience and a demonstrated record of player development to the program. “One piece of advice I would share with other coaches is to remain a student of the game and of people. Growth comes from learning through your own experiences and from listening to those around you. That commitment allows you to evolve and better serve the people you lead.” “I joined LABC because, as an Afro-Latina in women’s basketball, representation and access matter deeply to me. I wanted to be part of a network that expands opportunity, develops leaders, and strengthens our pipeline within the game.”

To celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth we participated in a presentation on its origins by Carter G. Woodson & an activity recognizing notable African-American figures and their impact on our culture. We engaged in discussions on how to support dismantling oppressive systems as allies.
