Boys' basketball: Great Crossing 69, Scott County 51, final.
Warhawks have won five in a row this season and eight consecutive games in their series with the Cardinals.
First I would like to thank God, my family, coaches, teammates and everyone who has helped me on my athletic and academic journey. With that being said I am blessed to announce that I will be staying home to play collegiate football at Georgetown College @Gtown_Football
Great teams aren’t just built in practice or the games you win.
They’re built in the sprints nobody wants to run, in the extra passes that don’t hit the stat sheet, and in picking up a teammate when he’s down.
If your coach holds you accountable, you are VERY fortunate. A lot of coaches accept their players doing whatever they want, whenever they want with no consequences. Discipline/responsibility/accountability are life prep! If your coach cares that much, you’re lucky so respect it!
A simple truth: Not all players want to get better.
Some just want to play.
Some only love the spotlight.
Some are fine being average.
But the ones who *crave* improvement? They're rare—and worth investing every ounce of your energy into coaching.
A high school coach’s job isn’t just to win games.
It’s to:
- Teach kids how to handle failure.
- Show them how to play for something bigger than themselves.
- Prepare them for life after the final whistle blows.
PLAYER-LED TEAMS 🏆
Player-led teams take ownership.
Player-led teams hold people accountable.
Player-led teams don't need to be motivated.
Player-led teams don't need to be monitored.
Player-led teams enforce the team's culture.
Player-led teams win.
Behind every state championship banner is a group of kids who learned that mediocrity doesn’t cut it, accountability is earned, and success is shared. Winning is just the byproduct.
