Good morning, this is a sensitive subject, so I’ll make myself vulnerable and speak on my situation where my pride has humbled me. In August 2006 3 days before we reported for training camp I was home on a 5 day vacation. Well that night I was getting ready to go out with friends. Well when I arrived at the meet up house 3 cops where there because of the way everyone cars were parked in the low economic projects. Well I was tired of them harassing us, so I decided to turn up NWA throwback cd F the police and I rode by as loud as my 2 15s and speaker music horns underneath my car could play. Well my parents home was only a block from those projects. So as the cops get behind I decided to go 5mph and make them follow me there, so I could “feel safe”. Well as I get 40-50 yards from my parents home one of the cop cars go around and block me to stop. Well to make a long story short I get arrested for fleeing and eluding. Becoming the 4 player to get arrested and jump starting “ALL OF MEYER’S BEST PLAYERS GET ARRESTED” stereotype. A week and a half later in the middle of training camp before we made our national championship run I have to go to court with Meyer lawyer who was provided by his agent who is now Spav agent. Small world huh ? Anyways the judge made the officers apologize and myself as well but the judge said something to me before he threw out the case. He said “You went to high school with my great niece, so I know who you are. “Your pride of being a celebrity will have you visiting me again if you aren’t careful”. I thought I wasn’t arrogant, so what he said didn’t sit well with me and besides I was pissed I had to apologize. I still felt I did nothing wrong and he admitted we were being harassed. By the way for years when I would get stopped at home for my limo tint on my vehicle they would all let me go and some would make comments like Mr. Untouchable. However, this morning reminded me that the judge was absolutely correct with what he said to me. PROVERBS29:23
