We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Sherman Lewis.
Lewis, a first-team All-American in 1963, served as an assistant coach at MSU before a decorated NFL coaching career that included four Super Bowl titles.
We send our deepest condolences to the Lewis family.

No surprise at #1: Indiana and Curt Cignetti sit at 5.1 Standard Wins, over a full win higher than any other staff. They are the best, and it's not very close.
Oklahoma State is rebuilding with last year's preseason #1 staff from North Texas, led by Eric Morris, who validated their lofty ranking with a stellar season.
A couple surprises: Mississippi State at #4 (powered by new coordinators) and Navy, led by Brian Newberry, at #7.
