BREAKING: MICDS announces the hiring of
Matt Irvin as their next football coach.
This will be Irvin’s second stint at MICDS where he led the Rams to a 33-3 record from 2005-2007 making two state title appearances, which ironically were losses to his predecessor Fred Bouchard who was at Harrisonville. Irvin has a career coaching record of 108-37 and led Kirkwood to their first ever state championship win in 2012. In 2017 he was inducted into the St. Louis Metro Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Irving is due to retire from his role as principal at Webster Groves at the end of the school year. This is the first time since 2014 that Irvin will be the head coach of a football program, but comes in high regard with an impressive resume.
