NEWS: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. He’s set to be eligible for the 2026 season.

I can’t speak to other programs. I will say here at WCU we use ID camps differently. Each of the last 4 recruiting classes we’ve had, we have IDENTIFIED a commit at camp. We have also made a final evaluation on a player. Camp is a recruiting tool for us, not a money grab.
Class of 2028 Players and Parent - This a must read as a camp invitation (even if it looks personal) on June 15th or after is NOT we repeat NOT serious interest.

This is a great concept- more time for development, more time for recovery etc. The issue I have is how this is going to be implemented- bc how many non revenue sports are getting increases in resources and funding in the NIL/ Revshare era ??

Since 2021 we have had 3 first team all conference, 1 all region player and 4 professional contracts signed out of transfer portal players who have come to WCU. Portal opens tomorrow and we are excited to start that process!!

This is the class that came into a backlogged player pool bc of Covid extra years. Rosters that had insane numbers bc of Covid waivers and now we don’t want to grandfather that class into this…but the class after them that are seniors now will get a 5th season..lawsuits incoming

The DI Board of Directors directed the DI Cabinet to continue work on the age-based, 5-year eligibility concept.
Big note: Players who exhausted eligibility this year under current rules - even those 4-year seniors - will not receive an additional/5th season. Not retroactive.
