I agree with my guy Dan on this one. Joe Royer does an outstanding job in space. He’s a savvy, polished route runner who may not have elite speed, but consistently creates separation because he understands leverage, angles, blind spots, and how to attack defenders. He catches everything within his radius, has enormous hands, and plays with the reliability coaches love. He’s not flashy, but he’s productive, dependable, and always seems to find a way to get open.

Dan Labbe of
Cleveland.com highlighted rookie tight end Joe Royer as a potential under-the-radar contributor for the Browns, noting the young pass catcher is quietly emerging as an intriguing TE2 option during OTAs.
"Sometimes it can take a minute to get used to rookie numbers. A guy makes a play and you look at your roster and say, 'Oh yeah.' There were a few of those moments with Joe Royer on Wednesday. He’s very interesting as a TE2 option. Put a big circle around Royer’s name as a possible Day 3 contributor."
