LB Side Sprint Drill - Linebackers should initiate their drop by getting to a 45-degree setting when the quarterback sets. - The "drag dig box" drill simulates a scenario where one runner crosses in front and another behind the linebacker's vision. - Coaches should teach players that for every "under" route, they should expect an "over" route to be present. - Linebackers must maintain focus on the quarterback's shoulder and hand once they are aware of the surrounding runners. - Players must be in a crossover and ready to break exactly when the quarterback's hand comes off the ball. - If a defender waits until the ball is already in the air to begin their break, they are considered late to the play.
