If you have to script everything for your player, don't waste your time and resources chasing a dream they don't have. The player needs to lead their journey.
If your player isn't out in the yard, playing soccer by themselves, looking to get better each day on their own, working on their craft ... then they're not motivated enough to play club. Save your money and put it toward education, vacations, or retirement.
One of the biggest things I enjoyed while coaching was watching players implement pieces of practice into the game and then seeing their eyes light up realizing it works.
If you want to be a coach in 2026, you need to become versed in the following careers:
- Coach
- Teacher
- Psychologist
- Tech Specialist
- Custodian
- Uber Driver
- Marketing
- Financial Planner
- Groundskeeper
- Mediation Specialist
- Psychic
- And many more...
🚨Student athletes should:
-Play multiple sports
-Avoid energy drinks
-Drink 80-100 oz H20
-Avoid sport specialization
-Consume 3–4 balanced meals daily
-Eat two breakfasts on game day
-Sleep 8–11 hours and prioritize recovery
-Strength train under guidance of a CSCS
-Work with a sports dietitian for smart supplementation
-Avoid playing too many tournaments and showcases
This should not be controversial. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Made a tough decision this week ... decided to step away from coaching. Came down to a select group of parents being extremely toxic and the club not backing me in decisions that needed to be made to support a quality learning environment. Going through it for sure.
Yes, I’m going to say this is terrible parenting
Parents need to set better examples for their kids.
Their games aren’t your “get wasted and party time!”
Be there for your kids
Set good examples for your kids
Support your kids
Don’t get wasted in front of your kids
Parents really posted this prior to a tournament game. How isn't 1 person in the group like, "Nah, this probably isn't a good idea." As their daughters warm up behind them. 🤦🏼♂️
State Cup play started last night and we won. Everyone’s happy, right? Nope, a parent is upset their daughter didn’t start. Mind you, player got important 40 minutes throughout the game. Parents ruin everything!
Players, let your coach know if you’re unable to make a session. We do plan them out and we do it often based on expected numbers. Yes, we’re able to adjust but it’s still appreciated. 👊🏼
The best players are the ones who have supportive parents, giving their player tools to use during trials and tribulations. The players that fall off are the ones whose parents blame coaches and move players from team to team.
Youth sports isn’t ruined by kids, it’s adults chasing trophies, rankings, and highlight reels over growth.
We’ve traded development for exposure, joy for pressure, and teamwork for ego.
Fix the adults, and you fix the game.
It’s that simple.
Dear ⚽️ Parents,
Your child’s ⚽️ journey doesn’t have to be this complicated or stressful.
It’s not about exposure. It’s about loving the game & actually being good at it.
When they’re truly good and ready, you won’t have to chase opportunities, they naturally come.
As our team moves up in leagues it is clear, there is some ELITE goalkeeping on the girls side. Great reads, able to dive and make ridiculous saves. Very cool to see.
