If I were a high school or college AD and had to choose between two coaches—one who’s great at relating to athletes and one who’s an expert in the sport—I’d choose the coach who connects with athletes every time.

VB peeps-A challenge w/ growing TV opportunities for VB is the unpredictability of match length. A 5 set match vs a 3 set match might be over an hr difference.
What ideas do u have to keep the integrity of game, but provide a more consistent timeframe? Put ideas in the comments

Sad day for sports here in Nebraska…but happy for Mike as he takes on retirement. Not just great reporter—but a salt of the earth human. Congrats @MPattersonOWH on such an impactful career.
#nebpreps Life update here … I’m planning to retire this summer (mid-July or so). Thanks to all of the coaches, athletic directors, players and fans I’ve crossed paths with in my 38 (!) years at The World-Herald. It’s been my honor. 😀
