I never imagined Americans would turn so virulently against education and expertise, but it’s a perfect reflection of why we are where we are in this country. I’m so grateful my parents and grandparents valued and instilled in me the respect for being educated!

Lots of people sticking up for teachers. I’m not talking about your local high school teachers. My mom was a teacher. I’m talking academia. Professors, administrators, deans etc. People who get a million degrees and but never work in real world. They suck

I teach auto shop at a small high school. We work on students cars, teachers cars, students parents cars and some community people cars. We only charge for parts and not labor, so we saved some people a lot of money last school year. This last school year we did 126 oil changes, 68 brake jobs, 85 alignments, 4 steering racks, 22 tune ups, 32 struts, 20 shock absorbers, 4 transfer cases, mounted and balanced 82 new tires, 4 timing chains, 15 valve cover gaskets, 14 thermostats, 4 radiators, 12 in tank fuel pumps, 8 EVAP canisters, 6 exhaust manifolds, 4 mufflers, 15 AC repairs including evacuate and recharge, 8 alternators, 22 batteries, 9 starters and so much more! Proud of those students I am!

When Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes showed up unannounced at a local Little League field, most kids didn't believe it was really him. Hours later, they were playing catch, taking photos and making memories with one of baseball's biggest stars.

People complain when schools are falling apart, then complain when communities actually invest in doing it right. Indoor practice facilities, fine arts spaces, and gyms aren’t luxuries in Texas they’re used constantly by thousands of students and the community for decades.

What do 2.6% Texas property taxes get you?
A $271 million dollar high school for only 900 - 2,600 students.
Equipped with indoor practice fields and dedicated gyms for dance, gymnastics and cheer.
I'd prefer saving $10 - $20k year year, personally...

Resident and teacher here. I was happy to vote for this building that will last a long time and serve generations of kids.
I’d personally rather live in a town that believes public schools are worth building well.

There are Waymo cars than there used to be.

NEW: 50 empty Waymos invade Atlanta neighborhoods and circle their cul-de-sacs for hours early in the mornings.
Residents say they are getting waymo traffic than usual and have tried combating the cars with a neon green sign, which only made the problem worse.
The Waymos didn't know what to do and clogged the entire street.
"We have small animals and pets, got kids getting on the bus in the morning, and it just doesn’t feel safe to have that traffic," one resident said.
The residents say Waymo has not given them a response yet.

Gas prices are currently about the same as Texas Ranger Kenny Rogers’ career ERA of 4.27.
