Coaches: Best practices item I have heard this past year was from Coach J. Sather.
Have a list on board or desk with names of every player. Players are to stop by 1x per week and share with Coach how they are doing Academically, Athletically, Spirituality, and Personally - putting it on them helps teach the skill of investing in relationships. Make ✔️ on list each time they stop each week to keep track. In another column - make a ✔️every time you pray for them specifically.

Coaching Idea: Script and communicate minutes for each player for each game. Take the NBA model - let players know ahead of time based on upcoming opponent and current team situation. Post it on board in locker room or on scouting report - each players expected minutes. (Could changed based on what happens in game but here are the minutes to expect) I think players would appreciate and be better prepared mentally.

Ways to utilize assistant coaches and invest in the growth of each player on your team:
1. Assign 2-4 players to each assistant coach - have them meet with each player - go over elite skill and areas to focus on, create 1-2 goals for each practice. Have assistant coach actively involved with their players each practice giving feedback, tracking daily goal, etc.
