I love this. I also want to give a little advice to other coaches recruiting transfers. I used to recruit transfers at Kentucky Wesleyan before Transfer portal existed.
We would call the other staffs explicitly looking for character eval, work ethic, things hard to see on film.
Coaches would lie all the time (not saying Coach shulman would, just in general) but you know who never did.
Strength Coaches
Call the strength coach and all of those guys are no nonsense, no BS guys that tell you how crazy a dude is or how hard he works. Always honest.
My advice is to call the strength coaches

Coaches - with the portal opening up tomorrow, feel free to hit me about our players who are leaving. I did Juco and AAU for 27 years, so I know how the game goes. Also, if we are interested in one of your players, we will hit you up as well

I’m not even a big big racing fan but it always hits you in the feels when one of the greats at their sport is gone too soon. Doesn’t matter the sport it’s easy to see the passion and know that person will be missed by many.

In a society that changes rules all the time to make it easier to have success (or change rules for offense to make it more exciting) this answer is so refreshing
There's been talk about moving the dates of the Triple Crown to make it easier for the horses.
As we wait on the decision whether or not Golden Tempo will run in the Preakness, I find this answer by Trainer Cherie DeVaux interesting.
