“Our job in college baseball, yes, it's to win games. Yes, it's to develop big leaguers, and yes, it's all the things that we all talk about in recruiting, but more than anything, it's to prepare these kids to be successful for whatever comes next. And man, as good as the talent is in this league, as good as the talent is on this team, not all of them are going to be career big leaguers, you know. And I think what makes Tyler Fay’s journey so awesome, is in a world that is inundated with particularly moms and dads that want your kid to cut and run when when they're not starting every day or they're not playing every day. You see at one end of the equation, you either get the parents are like, ‘Hey man, put your head down to work. We got to get better.’ And you get the parents that feed into the narrative, ‘man, they're not giving you a chance. You got to go. You got to leave.’ the thing about him that makes him so special is regardless of whether Tyler's a 20-year big league or not, that guy's going to be a smashing success in life because when things get hard, he doesn't cut and run. He's not sticking his hand out looking for the next easy way and who's going to pay me more. He’s the I'm going to put my head down. I'm going to work and I'm going to get better.”
Guys like him are the exact reason you believe in what you recruit. You believe in makeup, you better hunt makeup because that guy has that in spades. And that's why he deserves every ounce of what he's getting right now.”

Too Often we Forget…
Over the past 10 years of my life has been spent as a Head Baseball Coach at the college level. The first 7 years of this coaching career was spent as a coach who held a sub .500 winning Percentage. In the realm of athletics this is deemed as a below average baseball coach. So in other words, never really did anything to write home about in terms of winning and losing.
The past 3 years have consisted of 3 straight 30 win seasons, 2 super regional finals and a National Runner Up.
Going from a non ranked d3 baseball team to playing to last day we possibly could was nothing short of God’s hand and provision over our team.
Now this isn’t about winning but through it I learned a great lesson over the past few years… How often do fail to remember what God has done as soon as we face adversity again.
How differently would we live our life if we continually remember God’s faithfulness throughout our life. That financial issue, the hospital visit or the difficult relationship or challenges in our job.
When we face adversity —Take time to remember what God has done to face the storm with Confidence that God will always be with us in it!

God is good.
The wins, championships, awards, and back-to-back Super Regionals are great, but they don’t compare to what God did in the hearts of these young men.
We saw lives surrendered to Christ, baptisms in the creek behind our field, and a team united by something bigger than baseball.
In a world that tells us to chase ourselves, there is only one way 48 players become truly unified: Jesus Christ.
This may not have been a College World Series team, but what God accomplished through this group was nothing short of a miracle.
To God be the glory. ✝️

Working with an SEC coach today, we got into a real conversation about evaluating hitters in the recruiting process.
What we found in the margins:
You can get ahead simply by knowing what you’re actually looking at.
Sounds simple, but anyone can watch a hitter perform.
Not everyone can project talent.
Not everyone can see what a player can become.
That’s where programs separate.
The ability to identify future growth — not just current results — is what leads you to the players who change the trajectory of your program.
