The Art of Coaching: Being demanding without being demeaning. This is one of the biggest challenges for a coach. How do you maintain high standards, expectations, & accountability, and still build relationships and trust? Ben Johnson 🔥

Anyone who discourages an athlete from playing multiple sports does not have that athletes best interests in mind. End of story.

Recruiting didn’t change. It compressed. FBS → FCS FCS → D2 D2 → D3/NAIA JUCO → reset & reload Chase opportunity, not ego. JUCO isn’t a failure anymore it’s a strategy. Older rosters. Portal pressure. Fewer HS spots. Take a step back, build your body & film, then re-enter with leverage.

Putting this gem back up because it perfectly captures where we are today... Earlier in the year, NIU Head Football Coach Thomas Hammock didn't hold back when discussing the realities of NIL, revenue sharing, and the chaos of the NCAA Transfer Portal x.com/skylerkisellus/status/…

Why go JUCO? Large % of Transfer Portal players end up without a spot, many coaches aren’t recruiting HS at a high rate anymore Get actual GAME Tape Face Div 1 talent each week Have gone through the GRIND Coaches want experienced players now, no better spot than JUCO

High school football coaches might have the most important job in any community and it’s overlooked. They set the culture for the largest group of young men in a school. If they build good men, not just wins, that ripple hits families, schools, and the whole community.
