Westminster earned two much needed wins last week, beating CO Christian 75-69 on Thursday (1/30/25), and getting the better of CSU Pueblo 72-66 on Saturday (2/1/25). Making the wins even more impressive was the fact they were both on the road!
Against CO Christian, Westminster simply shot the ball better. In fact, the Griffins shot 54.2% from the field, including 61.5% behind the arc, all while holding the Cougars to 39.7% shooting from the floor and 30.8% shooting from three point land.
Donaval Avila led the charge, scoring 26 points, hauling in 8 rebounds, and dishing out 3 assists. Tommy Ball also made a significant contribution with 16 points, 1 rebound, & 5 assists.
Against the Thunderwolves, free throws won the game as Westminster made 14 of 19 (73.7%) from the free throw line, while Pueblo was just 4 of 7 (57.1%) from the charity stripe.
