Yesterday, after I finished cooking, I decided to use a cold soft drink to eat my food.
So, I crossed to a shop on the other side of the road, just directly opposite my house.
I saw a little girl in the shop, and I told her I wanted a drink. She nodded, went inside, and brought one out.
I looked at it and said, “No, no, no… this one is not cold. I need a cold drink."
She replied, “but there is no light since morning, so there is no cold drink available.”
I said, “Okay, then I don’t want.”
As I turned to go, she asked in that innocent children’s voice, “You’re not buying?”
I said, “No, I’m not buying because it’s not cold.”
She asked again
“Oh… Will you buy it if it is cold?”
And I answered yes. I told her I needed it to eat my food.
She said, “Okay.”
And I left.
I checked two more shops before I finally got something cool that night.
Later in the mid-night, they brought light, so I knew the power outage was a general thing...my house didn’t have light earlier, either.
This morning, I was still lying down on my bed, planning how my day would go when I heard a knock on my door.
I answered from inside... Yes! Who is there?
And the voice said, “It’s me. Aunty, it has cold.”
I said, “Cold? What has cold?”
She replied, “The drink.”
I got up and opened the door.
It was the little girl from the shop, standing there, With a cold drink.
Aahhh! 🥹😂
