What did you and your OL do this week? What they look like in August and September is largely determined by what they're doing right now. After looking at many successful programs , I noticed 10 priorities that consistently separate productive summers from wasted ones. 👇🏻 open.substack.com/pub/gameda…

Many will choose to take the easy way out and not do the workout today. The elite know doing things you don’t want to do will make you the athlete most will never become.

Luke Kuechly shares what elite preparation looks like. "There's plays I've made solely based on what I've seen on tape." "As you study during the week, you can pick stuff up. If he lines up here, he likes doing this. If this guy's on this side of the field, he likes doing that." Your preparation is going to help you show up. It doesn't just help you react - it helps you anticipate. "If you can find a couple plays during the game that you've either seen on tape or seen at practice - you can apply 'em in the game." "That's the part of the game that's fun." Then the broadcast said it best: "He reminds me of Peyton Manning. A guy that is totally prepared - that is gonna know what's gonna happen before it takes place because he has studied so much. He's one step ahead of everybody else." When the game slows down - that's when preparation has done its job. Success always starts with your preparation and your will to prepare. (🎥 NFL Films)

Detroit Lions HC Dan Campbell - Meeting Structure - "First of all I know this, you can give them deadhead if you're not careful, so hit them in spurts. You give them 20 minutes, hit them on what you need to hit them on & get them out for a couple minutes, bring them back & keep going." - "It needs to be interactive, ultimately we're teachers. We're teachers in football, so how do you communicate & articulate what you're trying to get across to those players. Don't make it more complex than it needs to be, keep it simple where they can play fast, know what to do & make it interactive, make it fun."

Asking for help is a superpower. For many years I thought it meant I was weak. Then I realized it's the only way things actually change.
