I was playing rainbow six over The Weekend some cool ideas I was spit balling with my friends: Attack needs another healer I think Finka is great but doesn’t get much engagement. Defense needs another support role Like rook, instead of armor gives 1 equipment.

A good way to see if your ammo is regenerating faster or not when PAP w/ the carbon magazine is to melee macchiato punch. The delta between how many bullets you get when non-pap -> PAP -> PAP4 will show you if there was any regeneration change.

2 things l would do to change chess. Players shouldn’t be able to return back to a square they previously left to save a piece. A lot of stalling happens around that interaction. Pawns should be able to move backwards. I think this would make games more interesting.

Horse forces his pawn to take my horse. I can use my other horse to clear the pawn on C4 expecting a follow up trade that my white square bishop can trade. Ironically the Rook will have to be used to block the check my queen is going to give him once knight is taken. GGs w tempo

Players sometimes have to use an overpowered mechanic to show it’s a real issue. Since many studios lean on measurable trends when evaluating balance, problems with low usage often go unnoticed until players deliberately push the numbers high enough to reveal them.

I think the reason I suck at chess is because chess lets you maintain or gain tempo because the value of a turn depends on how much you achieve with it, not the turn itself. prefer games where turns are more strictly symmetrical in effect.. reactionary, just “go”

Imagine a version of chess where white has 5 minutes to capture the king and black has 5 minutes to just defend it. Tempo for white = speed to kill while tempo for black = ability to slow white down.
