Our ranger team cares for over 40 miles of footpath right across Torbay. This week the team has been out fixing a collapsed section of boardwalk in the Cockington Water Meadows. This is a beautiful walk through meadows and woodland, connecting Cockington to the coast.

We are very sad to report that our sheep have been chased by a dog again in Cockington. This led to two lambs jumping out of their field and to one losing its life. Please keep dogs under close control at all times around livestock. #dogsundercontrolplease

The large umbrella-like leaves of the gunnera, revealing their prickly underside. Grown for its enormous, architectural foliage, leaves can reach up to 2m wide. Preferring damper ground, these specimen plants can be found around the lakes in Cockington Country Park. #gunnera

The new trellis roses are in bloom! These climbing and rambling roses were generously donated by David Austin Roses back in April, for the new rose trellises in the Cockington rose garden. We're excited to see so many have flowered within their first year. #cockingtonrosegarden

Many areas around Cockington Country Park are managed to benefit wildlife. One of these areas is the arboretum, where the grass is left to grow long. These areas are full of wildflowers, butterflies & insects during the summer months. #wildflowermeadow #butterflies #insects
