Now that you have Japa. Remember the children in your financial plan. Don't let them see the extreme shege you saw. If you invest £500/year, < £1 a day in the S&P 500 from birth. That child will be getting more than £20,000 at 18 years old to invest in property or business!
S&P 500 has done 10% annually on average in the last few decades. Investment is to be done via the UK Junior ISA where all capital gains are tax-free. See an advisor if you need more information.
