This beauty just came in, shouts out to @samsisle at @vercel for hooking me up. The quality and design are both amazing 🤩 #Nextjs #swag

I recall when job searching, a hiring manager expressed skepticism over if remote dev teams could actually work. The interview went from me selling myself to me selling the remote idea to them. Now they’re working fully remote and making it work just fine. 🤨

Having a lot of fun playing around with @prisma #GraphQL for a personal business site. Just wish there didn’t seem to be so many different ways to set it up, docs seem to have 2 ways and then there are multiple ways I’ve found online through vids and blogs. 🤯

Started playing @CallofDuty #modernwarfare after playing #ColdWar all day on my PS4. I feel like Cold War is an unpolished mess. The graphics, animations, and sound feels like I’m playing on PS2. Was I just expecting too much from @Treyarch after Modern Warfare?

Thinking about going on YT and doing some random live dev stuff for newer people to watch and hopefully learn some stuff, wonder if anyone would watch that. Would YT be best for that or would it work better on Twitch?

As a dev, I often try to focus on accessibility. I also use screen readers myself as my ADHD makes it difficult to get through long reading material in a timely manner. Running into sites in 2020 that still drop divs and spans in place of semantic elements makes my eye twitch 😓

Honestly after seeing first hand what a lot of their students can do, I’d jump on this if I had a company.

Lambda School is working on something incredibly, incredibly exciting. I can't talk about it publicly yet. If you're actively hiring junior engineers, please like this tweet and I'll DM you more information. Still on the DL for now, but trust me. You'll want this.

We found out that my daughters school iPad has a coding game for kids. She got excited to try it when I told her this is what I do for work. Now she’s learning about giving a program precise instructions, bug fixing and testing. Any other fun kids coding games? #1dayofcode

Update: she’s now using JavaScript to make a Fuzz of me in her game.

One thing I hate about typescript as a newb: being screamed at by my editor the second I add a return type up until the moment I write that return statement 😂. I don’t know if I can take this kind of abuse lmao

Things I love about typescript as a newb: it’s saved me a lot of time when writing bad Code. Missing params, handling null values, getting a better picture and understanding of objects I’ll be expecting. It’s made me think of better ways to write my code.

Things I currently dislike about typescript as a newb: 1. interfaces can be extended but types can’t, but you can’t see what’s in an interface on hover like a type.🤔 2. You can only use instanceof on a class to find out its type. Useful for when a func returns 1 of many types.
It’s always kind of sad to me when I see a lot of great YouTubers who inspired me when I was learning to code, quit their jobs and stop coding. I wish them the best as they start leaning towards vlogging, but now I have to search for new content.

Been working with typescript for a bit. At first I was a nervous about how well I’d adapt to it during a client project. I’ve been using my usual method of “get as far as I can on my own and then reach for docs when I try to do something too fun”. Seems to work out somehow 💪🏽
