The Texas Senate has passed SB 2519, which would block the taxing and funding structure being used to develop Austin's Project Connect light rail rapid bus system. A similar bill in the House would have the same effect: communityimpact.com/austin/s…

Austin's District 1 has suffered enough. Still 20 months left in Natasha Harper-Madison's term. #Recall
At yesterday's COA council work session, the Jasmine Crockett of Austin Natasha Harper Madison goes on another unhinged rant about how the City has to do cap and stitch as reparations to black people and that her "skinfolk" need to rise up. Then proclaims she is the "chosen one" for all black people in Central Texas from Sequin to llano. Pure craziness.

kxan.com/investigations/kxan… In case you've forgotten how Austin politics work, here's a prime example. A lobbyist for St David's (Michael Whellan) texts @CMZoQadri on the dias while discussing the ordinance for safety bollards in front of hospitals. Zo can be seen reading directly from his phone on what to say. Zo then moves to postpone the vote. Also voting to postpone, @VanessaForATX and @joseforatx after receiving phone calls from the same lobbyist who by the way donated to their campaigns. Great work here by @MattGrantKXAN for bringing the receipts.

Doesn't bode well for any transit project including Austin's proposed light rail.

Zo Qadri yet again MIA as West Campus becoming more dangerous. The least he could do is demand DA Garza prosecute repeat violent offenders instead of releasing them back onto The Drag. kxan.com/news/local/austin/a…

Austin "taxpayers are likely to continue paying more in taxes, utility charges & other fees through the decade, before accounting for even higher property taxes that could be imposed through local elections to raise more revenue." Beginning of the end... communityimpact.com/austin/s…

Embarrassing that Austin Council Member Laine: - Views residents outside city as way to fix city finances - Thinks annexation is easy - Doesn't know we have to pay for services to areas annexed - Misses point that budget needs cutting BTW last year Lost Creek voted 91% to leave
At today's Austin city council work session on the city five year financial outlook. @cmkristalaine says " we should look at annexation to just to get more revenue" Then the so called real estate and development "expert" gets called out by city staff and @KirkPWatson. And gets told "we should never say we want to annex simply to get their tax money". She ran on a platform of being a real estate, development, and etj expert. Total lie! #atxcouncil #txlege

From yesterday's Austin City council meeting: Our boy Roy calls out members for not even listening to the citizens that come to oppose their lunacy. "Why the hell did we vote for you if you're not going to listen or represent the citizens!" We need more of this.

No it hasn’t but #atxcouncil still bumbling around on this issue. We need Platform Accountability and a good software program to keep track of STRs. None of that is in the new amendments to STR ordinanc. @KirkPWatson @chitovela3 @PaigeForAustin
Opinion: The courts have not tied the City of Austin’s STR regulatory hands nearly as much as the city suggests. (austinfreepress.org/hotels-o…)

You can break campaign finance laws in local Austin races and literally nothing happens. I am talking absolutely nothing ever happens. It’s all a complete joke. #txlege
Accountability matters. My ethics complaint wasn’t personal—it was about transparency and restoring trust. While my opponent broke the law, we must address violations respectfully, not with name-calling. I’m disappointed in the lack of sanctions, but this isn’t over @AleshireLaw

Too early for a recall in Austin D6?

During the same hearing @cmkristalaine gave this statement to constituents. #d6 this is your new council member. Going to be a long term filled with world salad statements about nothing.
