I've just discovered people have different ways of thinking about this. When you need to clean the kitchen, do you class it as:
67% One task
33% Many individual tasks

Finally admitted to my manager that I foresee myself moving away from coding into a more soft skills role eventually. I've never mentioned it because it felt like I'd failed as a coder but making a plan which works to my skillset will ultimately benefit everyone

There are normal Sunday scaries. And then you have a pre Monday bank holiday Sunday scaries where I have to keep checking we are actually off work tomorrow 🙃

You know it's time to start the bank holiday weekend when your laptop just decides it's not going to work

How do people go off on little side quests during mobbing? I was just asked to update another repo, but got so distracted by the other conversations on the teams call I ended up making the wrong change in the wrong place 🙈

My app usage for this site is really going to drop because I'm never going to stop typing "tw" into my phone search to find it. My phone stats already have my usage down by 2 hours a week. So I guess that is a bonus?

Three senior engineers worked separately on a bug over the last week. Today we realised no-one had tried replicate the problem and we were all looking in the wrong place. I'm always grateful to be reminded no-one is perfect

When you're interviewing, what do you class as the first interview? The initial call with the recruiter to ask your experience and expectations, or the first time you speak to someone within the department/company you are interviewing for?
0% Recruiter screening call
100% Person within company
0% Other

I'm starting to think that I've been considering interview stages all wrong over the years as I don't count the screening call

Is there not a certain etiquette that if you see a pipeline hasn't been pushed to prod yet... you don't push your changes without asking the person who's blocked the pipeline?

I have questions for the person who thought we needed to be notified when our Androids successfully blocked a blocked number 🤔

Two years of having issues getting to the Manchester @ReframeWIT conference - I've just found out I'm attending the London event in September with work 🥳 fingers crossed the trend doesn't continue

Really wish gyms would give you some sort of map or walk through of their layout on their website so I don't need to spend all day freaking out that I'm not going to be able to find the swimming pool

Can't get over the fact that NowTV made me click through not 1, not 2 but FIVE pages to confirm my cancellation. Guilt tripped me about losing my discounted rate from the last time I tried to cancel. Only to offer me a further discount 🤦‍♀️ sorry NowTV we are breaking up

Nothing solves your imposter syndrome then realising that no-one else knows how to write unit tests

Did I squeal with excitement? Yes. Am I ready for the stress of actually buying the tickets? Absolutely not

I'm not sure if this is an engineer thing or a Gen Z thing but people not keeping their work calendars up to date may be one of my top work pet peeves. Love spending two days with the team panicking that one person hasn't shown up to work only to find out they had annual leave 😤

31 and I've just booked my first adult swimming lesson to overcome my fear of water. There are some things I'm just not carrying with me this decade

No matter how many times people tell me otherwise, the idea of spending two nights in the peak district with a bunch of strangers is never not going to fill me with anxiety. I'll do it. But I'm going to panic the whole way there.

Why do @easyJet staff not know you don't need a passport to fly Manchester to Isle of Man 🙈 the anxiety of wondering if you'll have to argue with them or not
