If youโve ever worked in a role that didnโt fully match your goals โ what did you do?
Did you stay for experience or move on early?
Would love to hear your perspective ๐
#CareerAdvice#BuildInPublic#DevJourney
For now, Iโll keep learning โ both to handle pressure better and understand real-world codebases.
Iโm also learning teamwork, debugging large systems, and project collaboration.
Every experience adds something ๐ช

Itโs only been about 1.5 weeks, but Iโm trying to figure out whatโs best for me:
๐ Continue this internship for the experience
๐ Or shift back to backend projects that align with my long-term goals
#CareerAdvice#DevJourney
Iโve been inactive for a while because I recently started my first internship ๐จโ๐ป
The past week and a half has been all about understanding the codebase, database & project structure.
Itโs been exciting โ but also a bit confusing.
#BuildInPublic#DevJourney
If youโve ever been in a similar situation โ working on something different from what you expected โ how did you handle it?
Would love to hear advice from devs whoโve gone through this kind of early-career confusion ๐

Now Iโm at a crossroads:
โก๏ธ Should I stick around for a full week & talk to HR about switching to backend work?
โก๏ธ Or move on early if itโs not aligned with my goals?
Itโs scary because this is my first internship, and I donโt want to waste time either. ๐
#CareerAdvice#Intern
I havenโt written much code yet โ just setup the environment, connected my Shopify Partner account & explored the codebase.
But honestly, Iโm not enjoying it much. Iโm more interested in backend development, not Shopify/Liquid frontend work. ๐
#BuildInPublic#DevJourney
Most of my work so far is around Shopify app development โ using Remix, Liquid & MongoDB for custom features/widgets.
The main backend (PostgreSQL) is handled by another developer, and the codebase feels pretty advanced right now.

๐งต Feeling stuck & a bit confused in my first internship โ need some advice ๐
Just started a 6-month developer internship (โน10K/month, possible full-time later). Thought itโd be backend-focused (Node.js, Express, DBs)โฆ but itโs turning out very different.
#DevJourney
Lesson: itโs not just about knowing the syntax, but understanding why a tech is chosen.
Postgres = advanced SQL DB (schemas, joins, strong consistency).
NoSQL = flexible, unstructured, scalable (e.g. MongoDB).
Next goal โ focus more on the โwhy.โ ๐
#BackendDev#Interviews
The last 2 days I was busy giving interviews ๐จโ๐ป
They went well, but I struggled with some โwhyโ questions โ like:
๐ Why use PostgreSQL instead of SQL?
๐ SQL vs NoSQL โ why choose one over the other?
I knew what they are, but not why we use them ๐ค

Starting a new learning track today ๐
Focused on Redis, PostgreSQL basics, and Prisma.
Kicked things off with Redis ๐ฅ โ just getting started with the fundamentals. Excited to see how it all connects to backend projects ๐
#BuildInPublic#BackendDev#DevJourney
Since Iโm not building a frontend, Iโll create a special GET route ๐
This will return all available routes JSON examples (what data to send).
A simple way for users to know how to use the API ๐
#BuildInPublic#BackendDev#API
Thinking of deploying my project in a serverless way โ๏ธ
Plan: keep it on Render, but also try AWS Lambda for serverless setup ๐
Will be fun to explore both approaches.
#Serverless#AWS#BackendDev
Planning to integrate Redis into my project soon ๐ฅ
Itโll help with caching & speed. Also considering WebSockets later ๐
Excited to make the backend more powerful ๐ป
#Redis#BackendDev#BuildInPublic
Iโve been learning & building in backend development (Node.js, Express, SQL/MongoDB, Docker, AWS).
Now starting the job hunt ๐
If you have advice on navigating todayโs job market or know good resources โ Iโd love to hear ๐
