Lots of the King George iterations on #Hoppers were spent trying to keep him innocent and genuine. When he started to lean too schmoozy, it didn’t feel like our boi KG anymore.

The first thing I did on #Hoppers was an anim test of Tom the lizard. I was fresh off of Inside Out 2, so it ended up being way over-animated and didn’t fit the Hoppers style or Tom’s personality at all. Whoops!

This is the only shot of Tom I did in the final film. But I’ll be damned if it’s not my best work.

One of my biggest career regrets is not being able to spend more time working with the #WinOrLose crew. In my very short time, however, I was finally able to animate a hot dog slapping someone in the face. Stream the first 4 episodes on Disney now!

There are 4 lattices in the shot, one for each side of the bun, one for the dog itself and one as a shockwave across his face. If ur a lattice hater plz unfollow

My first pitch for Lance Slashblade’s lipsync in #InsideOut2 involved getting a Japanese-speaking animator to translate and record Lance’s lines for me. I matched his mouth to the translation so it would look like the actual line was an English dub.

Ultimately we decided it was a bit busy/distracting, so the final version is just a very poor English lipsync. I tried to only use Jaw up/down and a tiny bit of mouth corner left/right.

While I’m not a hockey player myself, I was lucky to get lots of guidance from hockey experts at Pixar when inventing Riley’s “thread the needle” move for #InsideOut2. I watched so much hockey that YouTube still recommends Peter Forsberg compilations a year later 🏒

Cat is one of the best to ever do it. Not just an incredibly skilled animator, but one of my favorite people to be around. If there’s any room on your team, hire her before someone else does!

Here are some alternate angles of the mouth shapes in Luca. It takes a lot of work to get it to look that simple!

The great thing about Soul coming to theaters this week is that this post-credits shot I animated with Terry actually makes sense now.

This was also the first thing I animated on my wfh setup when we thought we'd only be home for the weekend. It actually ended up lasting a bit longer than that.

As much of a pain as teasers are to make, it’s always fun to see everyone’s reactions to the team’s work so early. I was lucky enough to do this shot with all the core emotions in it, and also introduce Anxiety to the world! #InsideOut2

I was shocked to learn that older animators did not have the same reverence for Space Jam that I did 💀
working in animation is realizing a coworker was a lead artist on tarzan, your favorite movie ever, going "i...literally work in animation because of you", and for the coworker to say "sorry about that"

Early #Elemental performance test! This was done while we were working with riggers on appeal and controls animation might need. This was roughly what our model looked like before simulation, FX and shading added their passes.
