So yesterday was my 1st Placement Exam, it was TCS NQT I spent the previous 2 days practicing Aptitude and Revising DSA As My DSA practice was gone , every minute I was revising it I blamed myself and had a lot of regret that why didn't I focus on DSA Then the Day of NQT came, I revised the Aptitude formula's in the Train. Reporting Time was 7:30, nothing was allowed in the center. After Entering the college, I went to my Exam Hall, There had to sit with a blank mind as the Exam was gonna begin at 9:00 AM Then the Time came, I was very nervous, started the Exam The 1st section was Numerical Ability. It had 20 questions to solve in 25 mins. Solved the 1st 3 questions, which were quite lengthy and comprised of some extra steps than I would have guessed. Then Interpreted a question wrong, spent time resolving it, looked at the timer, and knew I was cooked Was only able to solve around 10 questions (can't remember the exact number) and had to guess others, cuz of lack of time So the 1st Section went pretty Bad. The Next Section was Logical reasoning, it also had 20 questions to be solved in 25 mins , which was not as hard and complex but couldn't complete it in time either, Ig I left 3-5 questions in that section. Then came the Advanced Quant and Reasoning Section, with 14 questions to be solved withing 25 mins. These questions were decent but required a lot of time for solving, solved around 10-12 questions in this section. Yeah was not able to Complete it either 🙂 Then came the verbal ability section. The Sentence Completion section was pretty good. In Passage recall, we will be provided a passage to read for 30 sec and then it will not be displayed, then we get 90 sec to write that passage from memory. Wrote 2 passage well , and 2 passage I wrote were meh Email Writing went pretty good too. Then came the Coding round, where Every thing Fked up. The 1st question was very easy question on Arrays, but the prblem came in the compiler of TCS system. It is not like our usual DSA platforms like leetcode, here we need to declare the function ourselves and then take the input manually and instead of returning the answer we have to print it. I initially started with C , I declared everything correctly still their compiler was unable to identify Cin LITERALLY CIN 😭?????? After a lot of attempts Gave up and switched to Python, Still it was giving Compiler issue, it took ages to compile the code. Solved few syntax issues, but still it would not compile no matter what. So desparately submitted the code. Then Proceeded to the next question , saw that it was on Binary Trees , so I gave up for 55 mins lol. Tried some code on Java, still it was unable to identify the SCANNER , event after importing😭 Then TCS members took our User Id and the issues we faced, a lot of people faced the same issue as me, some even faced worse The 2nd shift in our college was cancelled by TCS, due to the amount of Technical problems we faced in the 1st Shift. TCS held NQT Exam in other colleges to, in one of my friend's college, TCS has declared retest cuz of the Technical issues. Waiting for update by TCS on the shift in which I gave the NQT Exam. After Coming Home, I had the regret that I could have prepared more for this, as it was not that difficult with proper preparation. Regretting for not revising DSA sooner and not getting my hands on it, Regretting for not preparing Aptitude Enough Feeling quite guilty for the blunders. Will try to perform and prepare better in the further placement opportunities Hoping for the Best✨ Thanks for Reading Such a long Post❤️

Got an update from TCS that the NQT retest has been scheduled for 6th July. I'm planning to make the most of this opportunity and prepare as effectively as possible over the coming days. If anyone has successfully cleared the TCS NQT, I'd really appreciate any advice, preparation strategies, or insights that helped you during the process. Thank you in advance! 🙏

let me try to give a brief overview of redis streams based on what i understood because why not a redis stream is a data structure designed for storing streaming data. internally it behaves like an append-only log where new entries are continuously added to the end of the stream each entry consists of an unique id and single/multiple key-value pairs. the id follows the format: <timestamp>-<sequenceNumber> the timestamp represents the current time on the redis node in milliseconds. the sequence number is used to differentiate entries created within the same millisecond, ensuring every entry gets a unique id multiple producers can append data to the same stream while multiple consumers can read from it independently streams can also be persisted through redis persistence mechanisms such as aof and rdb, allowing data to survive restarts depending on the server configuration so how does this differ from redis pub/sub? pub/sub is ephemeral in nature. when a producer publishes a message, redis immediately pushes it to all currently connected subscribers. if there are no subscribers listening at that moment, the message is lost streams work differently. messages remain stored in the stream after they are produced, allowing consumers to read them later, replay old messages and recover from temporary downtime without losing data also there are consumer groups that allow multiple workers to share the load of a single stream, ensuring each message is assigned to only one consumer within the group another feature of streams is at least once delivery when using consumer groups. unlike pub/sub, streams require consumers to send an acknowledgement (ACK) after processing a message. if a worker crashes before sending that acknowledgement, the message remains pending and another consumer can later claim and process it

Just shipped GitMaxxing , a GitHub stats tracker I built from scratch over the past 2 weeks. What's under the hood: - GitHub App webhooks with HMAC signature verification - Event log pattern : raw events stored first, cron aggregates later - GraphQL backfill for full contribution history - Streak calculation from daily stats - Public shareable profile cards with export - Sync Now button to manually run the api endpoint for cron jobs, as vercel only allows one cron jobs per day on their free plan The most interesting part was the webhook and cron separation. Webhooks just log raw events. A cron job aggregates them into daily stats. If aggregation logic has a bug, raw data is intact and you can re-run. Built with: Next.js, Better Auth, Prisma, PostgreSQL, GitHub GraphQL API Try it: github-stats-tracker.vercel.… #buildinpublic #nextjs #webdev

Update on my GitHub stats tracker: last week I posted a screenshot and said "the UI is shitty af" , so I fixed it lol what's new: - full UI redesign - wanted to try something new for UI, so used FlowStep for UI designing and then replicated it through AI - Today page: live event feed, hourly activity, daily breakdown - GraphQL backfill: your full year of contributions loads on signup - shareable profile cards you can export as PNG - streak tracking, top languages, heatmap also figured out the backfill problem I was stuck on. the trick was GitHub's GraphQL contributionCalendar query returns the full year in one shot instead of paginating every repo. try it: github-stats-tracker.vercel.…

Day 3 of #SDESheetChallenge completed These were the today's questions - The first question was easy, just needed a little recap - Struggled a bit for the 2nd question - Solved it after reading the tutorial - The brute force for 3rd question is pretty easy, the optimal solution for this question didn't click me, watched the initial of striver's video, then realised it was 2 pointers sorting - There was another optimal way to solve it, which was gap method, didn't solve it using that While doing this challenge I realised how much rusty have I become, need to do more practice @takeUforward_ @striver_79
