Alternate title: Congressman engages in casual racketeering because friends can't get paid for peddling misinformation.
Just normal 2024 things.

Dear @SamsungMobile and @ATT, you force installed crapware without permission?!? Grow up, get better, and stop this BS. It's offensive. What is going wrong in anybody's head that this is even on the list of things to do?
I won't accept this behavior, this is enough to lose me.
First it was a large portion of the infosec and tech sphere, and now it's climate scientists. Nobody can call it a win if experts and professionals scramble to get away.

Since Twitter's future is in doubt, I can be found on Mastodon at @CodyToombs@mstdn.io
I also put together a quick linktree. I'm not done adding to it yet, but I'll fill it out a bit more this weekend.

Twitter is now trying to use trending topics that read "Only on Twitter" as if that's somehow going to keep people around?
Tell us you're desperate without saying you're desperate.
Since "ignore the polls" is trending right now, let's remember why.
Lots of people (myself included) have stopped responding to polls because they're being used by organizations to target people for harassment and intimidation.
Here's another handy tool for tracking down people you follow if you're jumping from Twitter to Mastodon. It employs a little more guesswork, but doesn't require other people to have found their way to Twitodon.

Okay, so it's Discord Nitro. But since people still think the checkmark == verified, it's really just an $8 entry fee for scammers to run rampant on the platform. Awesome.
It's time to demand @FCC put an end to the political messaging exemption for calls and text messages. Everybody knows campaigns are ignoring opt-out requests, and they're buying batches of numbers to send from so that people can't block them.
I've received far too many, even after sending STOP requests. They're not even following the rules of the exemption, let's stop pretending there's any point to it. People should not be harassed on the private phone service they're paying for.
For those leaving Twitter for Mastodon, or even just setting up an account as a precaution, check out Twitodon for semi-automated help finding your follows over there. twitodon.com/
Twitter is setting a new land speed record for burning down. Just look at the "Twitter Blue" trending tag, it's basically a long string of well-known and famous checkmarks saying they're not going to pay to keep verified status.
Even MySpace didn't crater this fast.
