Having watched Hamnet, and setting Jessie Buckley's superb acting aside, I prefer the volcanic, non-tear-jerking, bruising, almost unbearable rawness of Rose Byrne in If I Had Legs I'd Kick You, or the understated, elegant, composed naturalism of Queen Renate Reinsve in Sentimental Value. None of the two falls into mawkish territory, and I believe that should be awarded, though they won't.
