Great to see this continuing investment. The @NSERC_CRSNG team will deliver this funding on behalf of the tri-council.
We welcome today’s federal investments, including $165M for college‑led applied research through the College and Community Innovation program and the launch of Team Canada Strong to build the skilled trades workforce Canada urgently needs.
Every year, colleges and institutes lead more than 8,500 applied research projects, delivering the economic and social solutions Canada needs most, from housing and energy to defence, health care, and productivity.
We are delighted to see a strong focus on the next generation of skilled tradespeople. Canada’s pan‑Canadian network of colleges and institutes will be core partners in training the people who will deliver prosperity across the country.
Colleges, institutes, CEGEPs, polytechnics, and Indigenous Institutes of Education are central to supporting Canada’s national missions, turning ambition into real outcomes for communities, learners, and employers.
