Today, I had the privilege of visiting Rock of Ages in Melfort, Goromonzi, Zimbabwe, and witnessed the incredible work being done to care for vulnerable children and restore hope to families in need. Together with my colleagues from the @CollenMashFound , we donated food, clothing, toys, and beds for the children. This is just the beginning of our partnership. Rock of Ages is one of many centres and community initiatives that we will be supporting as we expand our efforts to fight poverty and improve lives across Zimbabwe. The visit was also a reminder that, as Africans, our struggles and aspirations are deeply connected. At a time when immigration issues continue to create tension in South Africa and elsewhere, we must remember that our humanity comes before our borders. Poverty and inequality know no nationality, and the solution lies in unity, compassion, and collective action. Let us choose kindness, love, and understanding towards one another. Africa is strongest when we stand together and uplift those who are most vulnerable.

Speaking during the visit, Dr Collen Mashawana emphasized the importance of African unity and collaboration in addressing poverty and inequality. He called on individuals, organisations, and leaders across the continent to work together in creating sustainable solutions that uplift vulnerable communities and ensure that no child is left behind. “When we unite our efforts and resources, we can create lasting change. The fight against poverty requires collective action, compassion, and a shared commitment to restoring dignity and hope to those who need it most,” said Dr Mashawana. #collenmashawanafoundation #CMF #Zimbabwe #Harare #Africa

4. Rooted in faith, dignity, and community empowerment, the organisation has touched the lives of more than 1,000 children over the past 18 years from the streets of Mbare to the farming communities of Melfort. Many of these children, aged between seven and fifteen, faced significant challenges, including being out of school and living in unstable or unsafe environments. #CMF #collenmashawanafoundation #Africa #Harare #Zimbabwe

2. Founded in 2006 and formally registered in 2007, Rock of Aves began as a ministry dedicated to sharing the Gospel. However, it soon became clear that spiritual support alone could not transform the lives of children facing hunger, unsafe living conditions, and barriers to education. #africa #harare #zimbabwe #collenmashawanafoundation #CMF
