Our Grade 3/4 students today finished off Week 2 of a Great Games unit. They decided their own groups (size and members) and then had to create a game. The video doesn’t do the engagement justice. 1hr of awesome creativity and PLAY!!

Student Voice has been at the forefront of our first week back. After a lot of planning in the holidays including running a Scavenger Hunt the finale of this process saw our Gr 5/6 classes all sitting in the gym negotiating class expectations. It was AWESOME!

Today we celebrated a delayed World Teachers Day at school due to class closures etc. Our Principal and AP put these individualised packs together for every teacher including a very thankful card and hand delivered them. What legends 🤩🤩

PLAY IS IMPORTANT In my planning hour I interrupted 2 x Grade 1/2 classes and without notice “stole” the kids. Not only did the teachers gets time to breath, the kids got to just simply PLAY. Never forget the importance/benefits of play. Everybody wins 👍

@tall_kelly another lesson we did last year if you need ideas 👍
This week has seen the start of our Bike Ed (Gr 3-6) and Scooter Ed (P-2). The younger kids have loved our little “Scooter Gangs” that we cruise around the school in. The Gr P-2 finish each lesson with a basic Obstacle Course (first one below).

@tall_kelly I saw your scooter lesson and thought this may interest you if you haven’t seen it. We are about to do Scooter Ed and Bike Ed this term.
After Captain America heard Batman was doing “Gratitude Tasks” he wanted a bit of the action. Remote Book Week has been a bit of fun this week. If you haven’t already, check out @DaleSidebottom’s Daily Mission cards. They are a great tool in Remote Learning.

KFPS Skipping Club Students can make their way up the “Honour Board” throughout the years. With 3 days back, the students were keen to get straight into it during PE. Have quite a few tags still to be made. Thanks for the inspiration @thepespecialist

Today it was the Grade 5/6 classes turn. They created, tested and adjusted their own games in small groups. Next week they will teach their game to another small group. Engagement plus when “PLAY” is involved!!

Today the Foundation classes were learning what an obstacle course is and how we can use teamwork and “Play” to make them in small groups (4ish). Excuse the mess! @MrHairPhysEd we need to teach kids how to “play” again. I will never forget this statement 👍

What a way to return to onsite teaching!! A whole school The Amazing Race. Kids participated in mixed age groups competing for the House Challenge Cup. A mixture of teamwork and skill challenges with a major focus on connection. So much fun 👍

Hey legends. After some help!! The students at school have shown a real interest in Parkour. Some teachers on yard duty tried to ban it but seeing kids move with such enthusiasm makes me happy. Chasing Parkour or similar units that people may have run. TIA 👍

I have been running a Physical Activity Challenge at school. Students log (Google forms) the # of mins of PA they do. The Classroom with the greatest time gets a bonus PE lesson with me when we return. Amazing how teachers are now pushing active lifestyles 👍

What a great week of FMS Striking (P-2) and Net/Wall Games (Gr 3-6). The students have been trialling and providing feedback for the Racquetball Rebels activities. Thanks to @squash_vic and @MrHairPhysEd for the invite.

A balloon themed FMS Striking session this week. There are just so many games and activities that can be played with balloons. The kids were buzzing for the whole session. This is why PE is the best 👍👍
