Houston tied Chicago for the No. 2 spot in Fortune 500 headquarters. Houston’s 27 giants generated $1.28 trillion, nearly double Chicago’s revenue. The Houston area is poised to add another Fortune 500 headquarters later in ’26, when Expand Energy (No. 362) completes its relocation from Oklahoma City to Spring, Texas.
