On this Memorial Day, we pause with deep gratitude to honor the profound sacrifices of our veterans and the fallen heroes who gave their lives so that this Republic could endure.
We remember the brave Americans who answered the call and fought with unbreakable resolve from Lexington and Concord, to the bloody Battle of Gettysburg, to the beaches of Normandy, from the jungles of Southeast Asia and the Pacific to the sands of the Middle East. They stood against the authority of mad monarchs, the oppression of radical ideologies, the genocide of fascism, and the soul crushing tyranny of socialism, all forms of authoristism and the unjust. They fought so that all men might be free defending this Republic, our Constitution, and the precious freedoms we cherish today. Their courage and selflessness preserved the blessings of liberty for all generations that followed. We owe them a debt that can never be fully repaid.
As I wake up every morning on my ranch, I am welcomed by this view of real Americana Colorado’s Purple Mountain Majesties rising against endless skies, rugged peaks, open lands, and the independent spirit of the West. This is the iconic vision of our Republic that our veterans fought so valiantly to protect and preserve. Their sacrifices remind us of what truly matters.
Yet today, Colorado has strayed from that vision. Through years of state legislative and executive mismanagement with one-party control, we’ve seen big government overreach, rising taxes and costs, and policies that erode the values, liberties, and way of life our service members defended. Too many families feel the weight of what has been lost in our Colorado spirit of self-reliance and liberty.
On this Memorial Day, we recommit ourselves to honoring their legacy by remaining worthy of the Republic they defended with their last full measure of devotion. With even an ounce of the courage and resolve our veterans showed on the battlefield, we can bring back what has been lost and restore this Republic’s promise right here in Colorado.
Memorial Day reminds us of that and gives us hope for the future so many fought for a renewed Colorado where liberty flourishes, families prosper, businesses thrive, and the spirit of freedom burns bright once again.
Let us honor the fallen not just with words, but with grateful hearts and steadfast action to secure the future they fought for.
May God bless our veterans, our fallen warriors, their families, the United States of America, this exceptional Republic we are proud to call home and the great state of Colorado.
A blessed Memorial Day to you and your loved ones. Remember those that gave all so you could be here today enjoying this day of rest and remembrance. Your liberties came at the cost of their sacrifices and courage.
I truly believe our best days are truly ahead of us.
