Ordinarily, I would not have commented on this issue, as I have endured far worse situations in my political life since I declared for the presidency, and it continues to worsen as I strive to do things in a civilised and organized manner. The unfolding events demand that I have to start speaking out now. On what transpired today during my planned visit to Benue State, I am not entirely sure that the state Governor, my dear younger brother, a Reverend Father I deeply respect, is aware of this situation. Having exhausted every possible means to reach him, I am compelled to use this available platform to ensure my message is conveyed. On Thursday, the 10th of April, I had planned to visit Plateau and Benue State, respectively. Plateau on Sunday, the 13th of April 2025, and Benue on Monday, the 14th of April 2025. My trip included paying courtesy calls to the governors as well as visiting the IDP camps and schools of nursing in both states to give my support. As is my practice, I reached out to the Plateau State government to inform them of my visit, which included spending the day with the victims at the IDP camp in Bokkos, a visit I wholeheartedly embraced to extend my support, care, and compassion to fellow Nigerians in need. And in his utmost hospitality, the Plateau State Governor graciously permitted. In a similar vein, I tried repeatedly to contact the Benue State Governor directly without success. I then successfully contacted his ADC who told me that the governor was in a very important meeting and would call me before midnight on the same day. Unfortunately, I didn’t get that call until Sunday evening when he sent me a message stating he had not been able to reach his principal since the day I called. I was disturbed by how an ADC would not have been able to reach his principal for 3 days. However, because my visit to the governor was just for courtesy and respect, I decided to proceed with my trip to Makurdi. Earlier today at 7am, I left Jos, and on reaching Akwanga at about 10am, my security team stopped and stated they received a press statement, purportedly from the Benue State Government, that appeared designed to stop my trip. Curiously while I was still talking with my security team on the issue, the Governors ADC sent the statement directly to me. The letter refers exactly to my itinerary which I had earlier conveyed to the ADC directly and to the security operatives in Benue through my own security. I am forced to remind them, and all concerned, that the purpose of this journey is to support good causes in areas of critical development: health and health education, education and caring for our people in need, and this is what I have done in my private life for years before getting into politics and even while in politics I have continued to do so. Everyone knew then how I had to get permission from the then President, President Goodluck Jonathan, that I needed to visit Haiti during the earthquake. I intended to visit a school being built by the bishop in Gboko, a Nursing school and an IDP camp, actions that reflect my genuine care for the welfare of our fellow citizens, and my continuous show of love, care and compassion to citizens who have been displaced. May God help us as we rebuild our nation and aim to achieve a new Nigeria where we do not politicize everything but allow citizens to exist, and we all should live for the common good for less privileged Nigerians and those in need. A new Nigeria is POssible. -PO

I just departed for Egypt on a 3-day visit as part of my detailed study of comparable countries to Nigeria. In Egypt, I am expected to understudy, among others, the Egyptian Power Sector, Education, Planning and Finance Sectors. -PO

Sowore is a controlled APC specimen. What Peter Obi did 3 years ago and was criticised, is what they want to do now. 🤷‍♂️
The Federal Government says it will learn power generation and transmission from Egypt which it described as a role model in the sector. punchng.com/nigeria-to-learn…

After my engagements in London, yesterday, I arrived in Abuja today to pay my tributes to the memory of a man I regard as one of Nigeria's best minds, the Late Dunu Chu Okongwu who served our dear nation as the Minister of National Planning, Minister of Finance and Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, all under the then Head of States, Gen Ibrahim Babangida. Chu Okongwu's service to the nation was reflective of his devotion and commitment to the progress of the nation. He was a man of integrity who not only served the nation faithfully but worked tirelessly for our national development. He lived an exemplary life of modesty and demonstrated the level of self-control obviously lacking in our political leadership today. Not minding the enviable positions he held, in the country, he only had 2 houses; one in Enugu and one in his home village. Okongwu was one of the few Nigerians in public service who rejected the seductions of self-aggrandizement and looting of the public treasury. As the then Minister of Finance, he was one of those who advised Gen Babangida on the licensing of new banks. But he neither issued a license to himself nor did he use his position to influence those given the banking licenses into giving him part ownership. Even as the Petroleum Minister, he did not allocate an oil block or oil import license to himself, as would be the case today. If he had used his position of service to enrich himself rather than work for the nation, he would have been celebrated, and his funeral would have been glamorised by dignitaries because we are in a nation that still celebrates criminals and criminals. He committed his knowledge, skills and passion to the service of the nation, and I have come to bid him farewell. I do hope that we, the leaders, will learn from his good legacies. May God grant him eternal rest and console his family, and every one of us. -PO

So an actor comes out and admits his wife has slept with 21 men in the industry, yet no one is making sweeping generalizations about his state of origin? Interesting. If he were from Anambra, the internet would be flooded with narratives, stereotypes, and endless discourse. Smh.

.@lifeinsolace, you see what I told you the other day? People tend to cover up so much for their insecurities on social media. Once they wake up daily with very same topic, look in-between.

I knew what I noticed when I made this post, the rate of overthinkers on the net is alarming, people passing their insecurities on others to make themselves feel good. The earlier you realize your "Happiness" shouldn't be posted on this app, the better for you.

I arrived in London, United Kingdom safely on Sunday, the 2nd of March morning for a busy schedule. I made the trip via Air Peace business class, as is my policy when embarking on long-haul flights, particularly when I have to start work immediately upon arrival. On arrival, I proceeded to Cambridge for scheduled meetings with development experts. Our discussions centred on suggested solutions to challenges confronting our nation. Coming back to London later in the day, I attended Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s launch of her latest novel, Dream Count, at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London. The event attracted about 3,000 attendees. Her conversation with journalist and author Elizabeth Day was insightful, keeping the audience fully engaged throughout the event. The event was not only a celebration of literary excellence but, more importantly, a testament to the immense potential our beloved nation holds if we invest in the most critical measures of development reflected in the Human Development Index (HDI): education, healthcare, and lifting people out of poverty. Coupled with my earlier discussions on turning around our struggling nation and the exhilarating performance by @ChimamandaReal, I am convinced that with the energy and brilliance of our youth, a collective commitment, and guidance through good governance, the dream of a better Nigeria is within reach. I remain confident that all hope is not lost. A new Nigeria is POssible! – PO

Today, March 1st, after attending morning Mass in Onitsha and offering prayers for Nigeria to mark the beginning of a new month, I set out for Umuru, Nvosi, in Isiala Ngwa South LGA, Abia State, to congratulate Governor Alex Otti on his recent 60th birthday anniversary. We also held a brief discussion on governance and the ongoing efforts to build a better Nigeria. From there, I travelled to Umuahia to join another distinguished son of Nigeria, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, at a thanksgiving service marking his 70th birthday. It was a moment of gratitude, reflection, and celebration of a man who has contributed immensely to our nation. Thereafter, I flew to Lagos to celebrate and congratulate another remarkable Nigerian, Mr. Casmir Maduafokwu, a prominent entrepreneur and a key figure in Nigeria’s oil industry, on his 70th birthday anniversary. Later, I attended The Sun Newspaper’s prestigious award night, where I had the honour of congratulating all the recipients across various categories. As the first Governor to receive The Sun Man of the Year Award in 2007, I have consistently honoured their invitations to celebrate those recognized for their contributions to national development. Such awards not only acknowledge excellence but also serve as a reminder of the responsibility that comes with leadership and influence. Finally, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Ebele Cardinal Okpaleke on his 62nd birthday today. May God continue to grant him wisdom, strength, and divine guidance as he leads his young Diocese with dedication and purpose. A New Nigeria is POssible! -PO

Anywhere you see Islamists, don’t give them chance to deceive you. They’re evil and everything about that religion is terrorism in disguise.
This notice is tragic enough but I wanted to focus on something else: Has anyone noticed that the "Commander-General" of the Katsina State Hisbah Board in @MBuhari's home state in NW #Nigeria is called #AbuAmmar? Guess who went by that title....?

Your father established a vigilante group that monitors and controls women, and you have remained silent on the matter.
I used to hate on it but I think we need to bring back the era of “girlboss” and “she e o” because this era of “I’m just a girl” and “trad wife” is very disturbing

I have immense respect for those who have stayed loyal to PDP before, during, and after the 2023 election. But as for those who disguise to be Obidient by day and PDP-APC by night? You all are nothing but shameless opportunists, and you utterly disgust me. Go fuck yourselves!

Moving to Finland If you followed me because of my comment on this post, I have this thread for you, to save you from this scam and future scams. 1) Finland is no longer tuition free since 2017. There were a lot of scholarships in the past but most, if not all, have been withdrawn. The new "right" government from 2023 came with a lot of changes. Now, most schools have increased the tuition fees with little or no scholarship. The average tuition is 8000-11000 euro per year. 2) For the first time, Finland introduced application fee of 100 euro this year. Those who applied for the UAS joint admission in January paid the application fee.

As a Nigerian, don't miss out on Finland. They're in need of Nigerians. Study while working and move with your family. Just $900. Requirements: Passport, Waec/Neco, and transcripts.
