But in Washington DC, the National Guard is controlled by the President - who in this case, was Donald Trump. 2) Former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sung stated in an interview, that TWO DAYS BEFORE January 6th, he was DENIED National Guard assistance by then TRUMP acting Secretary of Defense Christopher C. Miller. IT'S ON VIDEO FOLKS. 3) Before the cultists pull that, "that's not what Sung told Tucker Carlson," bullshit, you need to watch or re-watch that interview. Steven Sung never once blamed Nancy Pelosi - despite Tucker trying to steer him into doing so. 4) Nancy Pelosi was not, and is not, in charge of Capitol security - - Per 2 U.S. Code § 1901a and 2 U.S. Code § 1961 The 4-member Capitol Police Board is in charge of Capitol security and has been since 1873. This is not debatable... IT IS THE LAW. 5) Nancy Pelosi doesn't have the authority to override the President of the United States. If Donald Trump - who is charge of the DC National Guard - had ordered troops to the U.S Capitol — they would have been there. 6) Trump's own Secretary of Defense Christopher C. Miller admitted there was NO ORDER given by Donald Trump to deploy National Guard troops. IT'S ON AUDIO TAPE FOLKS. General Mark Milley, Trump's own Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and principal military advisor, testified: "You’re the commander in chief. You’ve got an assault going on on the Capitol of the United States of America. And there’s nothing? No call? Nothing? Zero?" 7) Mayor Muriel Bowser, AFTER she previously stated the Capitol Police could handle security, did, afterall, request more National Guard assistance, and it was not given. The @GOP @HouseGOP @SenateGOP and MAGA cultists love to claim that convicted felon Donald Trump "secured the border," while completely ignoring facts and data proving otherwise. So let's look at a few of those facts and data. 1) Data shows that Trump failed to improve border security. Border Patrol recorded 41% more illegal entries in 2019 than in 2016, and 47% more through 4 months of 2020. As Trump left office, their reports indicated those numbers reached even greater heights. 2) According to the Cato Institute, the Biden administration deported 50.9% of migrants while the Trump administration deported 47.4% during the same period. 3) Trump's administration deported 50.5% of migrants encountered in 2018, when the total number of encounters was about 475,000. But when the total number of encounters nearly doubled to 940,000 in 2019, his administration deported just 25.6% of the migrants it encountered that year. 4) U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement DEPORTED more than 142,000 immigrants in fiscal year 2023, nearly double the number from the year before. 5) Nearly 18,000 of those deported were parents and children traveling as family units, SURPASSING the 14,400 removed under Trump's administration in fiscal year 2020. 6) The number of people taken into custody by the U.S. Border Patrol has reached the highest levels in the agency’s 100-year history under Biden's administration, averaging 2 million per year. 7) During the Trump administration, DHS made 1.4 million arrests — what it calls "encounters" — in fiscal years 2019 and 2020 (24 months). Of those people arrested, only 47% were removed as of December 31, 2021, which includes people arrested by Trump and removed by Biden, and 52% were released into the United States. 8) Under Biden's administration, DHS made over 5 million arrests in its first 26 months, and it removed nearly 2.6 million, or 51%, while releasing only 49% into the United States. In other words, the Trump DHS removed a minority of those arrested while the Biden DHS removed a majority. Biden managed to increase the removal share while also increasing the total removals by a factor of 3.5. 9) Biden's DHS is removing 3.5 times as many people per month as the Trump DHS did. By taking 535 immigration actions over its first three years, the Biden administration has already OUTPACED the 472 immigration-related executive actions undertaken in all four years of Donald Trump's administration. Here's why all these numbers and statistics are important — bcos the @GOP @HouseGOP @SenateGOP ONLY focus on the encounters at the border. They can tell you - for example - "5 million immigrants encountered at the border, this is Bidens border crisis." BUT..... They won't tell you how many of those encountered were arrested and deported, nor which were arrested and awaiting judication. They won't even tell you how many are awaiting asylum/refugee status. And THAT is how the @GOP @HouseGOP @SenateGOP are able to use fear and fright to use the border as a campaigning technique. They will NEVER give you all the information just to keep their "Biden border crisis" and "Biden's open borders" narratives alive. If anything, all these facts and data simply prove, BIDEN'S IMMIGRATION POLICIES ARE WORKING. And they would work even more if the Republican Party would work with President Biden instead of obeying Donald Trump's demand to NOT fix the border problem.
