Excellent comment from our colleague John Din in the Philippines.
The “cry of the Earth” and the “cry of the poor” are not separate problems. Rather, these two problems our planet faces are interconnected, and we need your support to help solve them.

This evening marks the start of Purim, when Jews commemorate being saved from persecution in the ancient Persian Empire. It is a mitzvah (commandment) to listen to the story of Purim chanted from Megillat Esther (The Scroll of Esther) . Wishing a Happy Purim to all celebrating!

The other day we were able to open the "One Day At A Time" addiction recovery service center in Myitkyina, Myanmar. A safe place for recovering addicts to come and meet and from where the message of recovery can be spread. So grateful to the donors who made it possible.

Today is the Feast of Saint Columban (also known as Columbanus). He was born around 543, and died in 615. He became a monk of Bangor and later principal teacher there. He is remembered as one of the greatest of the Irish missionary monks.
