Today the Live Comedy Association hosted a parliamentary drop-in event to bring grassroots live comedy to the attention of MPs from across the House.
At Glee Club Birmingham today, Geoff Rowe from the Live Comedy Association met Andrew Griffith MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Business and Trade, for a roundtable discussion on the importance of the UK hospitality sector.

The Live Comedy Association doesn't want special treatment. We just want live comedy to have a level playing field to other art forms - which it currently doesn't have.

In Parliament this week, Baroness Hodge acknowledged there is a case for live comedy to be considered as an art form; and Dame Caroline Dinenage put the case directly: comedy clubs can't access Arts Council funding unless they happen to double as something else entirely.
