Starting today, all furloughed federal employees can stop into any of our cafes once per day for a free drink and a free food item with their valid federal agency ID. Federal workers are the backbone of Washington. They open the doors, keep our skies safe and our streets clean, care for our parks, and make sure our country moves forward - often without recognition. Now, many of them are facing a difficult time.
