Floyd once told us that it was Vladimir Lenin who teaches about the importance of leadership who must emerge from democratic, open and transparent elections.
Floyd told us that Lenin understood that only leaders who are chosen by the collective can carry the historic task of transforming society.
Floyd said to us, "Lenin warns that leaders who are appointed in boardrooms, behind closed doors, without the mandate of the masses, will never have the capacity or legitimacy to liberate anyone."
Floyd was always clear that organisations that rely on appointments instead of conferences become fiefdoms. They are no longer democratic movements but private empires and these fiefdoms are led not by revolutionaries but by Political Barons who treat organisational structures as their personal property, ruling through patronage and gatekeeping instead of principle.
Floyd said to us that true revolutionary movement must be accountable to its members, not to backrooms and boardrooms.
