May 4, 2018 I went to see Kiefer Sutherland (Rick Brantley opened) at Billy Bobs. Usually actor turned musician is not good, but Kiefert was great. Great band and a wonderful presence. More importantly Kiefer took the time to gain a little knowledge about Merle Haggard. In 1983 Merle broke the Guinness World Record for buying the largest round of drinks ever purchased by one person. Kiefer made the offer and it did not set the record, but it was an awesome memory.

May 4, 2017 I went to see the band who’s lead singer got drunk and vomitted due to the summer heat in Texas. The band broke up temporarily. I knew one song from the band, but I wanted to see the train wreck. What I saw was a band that was awesome live. Every time they come, I go see them. Make sure to check out Kings of Leon, you won’t be disappointed.

RIP Dave Mason. I met Dave after a show at the Dakota in Minneapolis, MN. I was struck by how nice he was and I loved his huge laugh, it made me smile. We got to talk and spend some time together. Make sure you listen to a Dave Mason song, he was an awesome songwriter.

42 years ago today I saw Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers during the Dallas, TX stop for their Long After Dark Tour. Many fans were angry the scalpers bought up all the tickets. One fan wrote a letter to Tim Petty complaining. Tom added two seats to the center section, giving the guy two front row tickets.
