The biggest problem with Trump is this rare combination of extreme narcissism and below-average stupidity. To justify his mistakes, he now claims that Iran has a permanent chokehold on the world economy - that without him, “the strait would never open and the world would sink into a worldwide depression.” In his own words, he is elevating Iran to a superpower, simply to explain away his mistakes. This comes at a time when the Iranian economy was already teetering on the verge of collapse before the war, and the blockade on Iran was working while CENTCOM was doing a great job degrading their ability to control the strait. In effect, while believing he is saving the elections, he is turning himself into a lame duck before even completing two years in office - signaling to the entire world that the U.S. Navy’s 250-year tradition of maintaining freedom of navigation is ending. Iran, and later other countries, could challenge U.S. power whenever there is a weak or tired president.

The Peace Deal that Trump boasted about had a clause for HAMAS to disarmed. Trump said it would e done by them, or we will do it by force. It has been a year. Trump not longer talks about it.

This goes to Iran because there is 60 days to final deal but our military has to leave in 30 days before there is a deal. 5. Commercial shipments resumed and Iran has 30 days to demine and will meet with Oman to determine future use of Strait consistent with international law and rights of neighboring states. Goes slightly to Iran as international law would be toll free but it also adds the rights of neighbor states which they will say allows them to charge service fees. 6. US agrees to organize a fund of at least $300 billion for Iran. This obviously goes to Iran. 7. All sanctions on Iran eliminated. This obviously also goes to Iran. (2nd Half of Deal in Next Post)

Questions & concerns being raised about the Iran MOU are fully justified, even if a good deal is still possible (full nuclear dismantlement). It’s unhelpful for the VP to engage in Obama/JCPOA-style straw-manning & demagoguery against valid critiques. From this evening’s panel:
