Canned Air is a really convenient tool to find out what S/N corresponds to a DS18B20 sensor in a grid without having to individually check them. Lines are better than with the heat gun. Used python to get the values and Google sheets to make the graphs. Took barely any effort.

Peak inefficiency: creating a partition for /tmp to avoid needing to crosscompile node.js for a single core 64mb ram RISC-V Board to *maybe* be able to run ZigBee2mqtt. Also, a bigger micro SD increased the energy consumption by a huge amount to a insane amount of nearly 0,7W.

It's funny that Google Bard has no problems with calculating the stability of simple structures but is completely overwhelmed with finding electronic components or power supplies. It even invents new meanwell power supplies while not even understanding their naming schemes.

Yeah I’m a time traveler - I told you next week.
It Came From Beneath The Sea (1955). That's what this picture is from. Just taken it off the TV now as it's on Film4. 1955. @jimmycarr care to explain yourself?

Just like its #iOS version, this #Android authenticator app sends scanned QR codes to a remote server. It has been downloaded 500K times. It's among the top 5 hits when you search for #2FA apps on @GooglePlay. Spread the word and warn your friends✌️ #Privacy

God damn I hate this piece of shit that calls itself "Twitter", is there seriously no way to disable the "for you" tab? I'm not interested in all that BS over there.

Wanted to bring attention to what @ARCTIChannel is doing. Manufacturers will occasionally send us a water bottle or sweater or something in December, often unannounced. Arctic is making donations in the name of media partners to Help 4 Kids to fund backpack purchases. 1/2

Eli5: Why do I need to type a password, when I use Google authenticator anyway? Shouldn't username and the 6 digits be enough? It's refreshing every 30s, shouldn't that be secure enough? If the server would enforce a delay of 0,5s after each try, the time won't be enough.
Thank you AEG for designing the Motor in a way that I have to unsolder the power wire before I can change the brushes. Could have just slightly positioned different like the other side which doesn't need to be unsoldered. That's not how you position parts that wear out.

Why is it so hard to recognise at which point it's better to stop investing time and money into old Hardware? I love this UPS, but I think I should have stopped repairing it when the H Bridge broke, not the 138V DC Has some Issues... Also invested way too much into my old car...

Today I learned about a Song that was able to crash 5400RPM notebook HDDs. I wonder if there is a song that could crash my NAS... cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvenam…

One of my favourite physical access jobs to a datacenter involved toilets. Let me explain. I needed to gain access from the less-secure side of a sub basement floor to the more-secure side. General office space to data centre.

It seems like having v1.27 of "Util" instead of 1.33 is the only reason I can't access the original OS on that electronic safe. I bought a safe with a intel nuc inside. Not what I expected from something that's seemingly sold to banks. Also no tamper switch as far as I can see.

Considering that SE doesn't mention the current rating of se.com/ww/en/product/EPH5700…, I'm surprised they just get hot but don't get damaged, get soft or smelly. Expected them to completely melt at 10A. Need to test again with thicker wire, it's not rated for 20A and also heats up.
